Being in chronic pain can feel like being stuck. I see it with the people who come to see me and I have felt it myself. Sometimes, despite trying all the traditional approaches, seeing all the “right” people – you can still be in pain. Sometimes (sadly quite often) you can be told that there is nothing wrong with you because the X-Rays, MRI’s, CT scans can’t find anything. I’m here to tell you that just because you can’t see it doesn’t mean it is not there. By this I mean – Chronic pain is not always, in fact it often isn’t associated with obvious signs of mechanical changes. Being listened to, being fully heard and accepted and believed - can be healing all on its own. I am often asked how CranioSacral Therapy works. There are many hypotheses out there – many of which are mechanical explanations of the process which may or may not be true but which offer somewhat plausible explanations, which I can relate to my work. Much of the time I am comfortable with the fact that we don’t yet know how everything works, and that much of how our body heals is a mystery - as are the workings of CranioSacral Therapy.
